1. Introduction:

Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) South Asia is looking for a Communications Consultant to develop a focused Channel Strategy for FNF South Asia region. The Communications Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing FNF's communication efforts and strengthening its outreach in the region.

2. Background:

FNF is a non-profit organization committed to promoting liberal principles, democracy, and individual freedoms. To amplify its impact, the Communications Consultant will create a tailored Channel Strategy encompassing diverse communication platforms, enabling effective engagement with target audiences in South Asia.

3. Objectives:

The Communications Consultant will be responsible for developing a results-oriented Channel Strategy aimed at achieving the following objectives:

a) Enhance Brand Presence: Strengthen FNF's brand identity and visibility across South Asia.

b) Strategic Dissemination: Effectively communicate FNF's values, projects, and activities to key stakeholders.

c) Stakeholder Engagement: Increase interaction and engagement with policymakers, civil society, and the general public.

d) Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the performance of communication channels for continuous optimization.

4. Responsibilities:

The Communications Consultant will execute the following tasks:

a) Communication Needs Assessment:

   - Assess FNF's current communication approach, identifying strengths and weaknesses.

   - Analyze target audience preferences and habits to determine effective communication channels.

b) Channel Strategy Development:

   - Develop a detailed plan for various communication channels, including traditional media, social media, website, newsletters, and innovative platforms.

   - Integrate content creation, curation, and distribution strategies.

   - Align the strategy with FNF's goals and values.

c) Implementation and Monitoring:

   - Oversee the execution of the Channel Strategy, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and teams.

   - Create a template to regularly monitor channel performance, providing data-driven insights for optimization.

   - Cultivate relationships with media partners and influencers in the region.

d) Capacity Building and Training:

   - Offer guidance and in person training to FNF staff on effective communication practices.   

   - Foster a culture of effective communication within the organization.

5. Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, preferably within the non-profit or international development sector.

- Familiarity with political, economic, and social issues in the South Asia region.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Strong project management abilities, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks efficiently.

- Proficiency in using communication tools, analytics platforms, and social media management systems.

6. Deliverables:

The Communications Consultant is expected to deliver the following:

- A comprehensive Channel Strategy document tailored for the offices in the region, complete with clear implementation guidelines.

- A template for performance reports for communication channels, containing actionable insights and recommendations.

7. Duration and Remuneration:

The contract for the Communications Consultant will be for 3 -6 months, with potential extensions based on performance and project requirements. The Communications Consultant will collaborate closely with the Communications Team in the region.
