Professor S. Chaminda Padmakumara is the current Head of the Department of International Relations Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo and he has obtained PhD in International Relations from South Asian University, New Delhi. His PhD thesis focuses on the historical concept of ‘mandala’ and Southeast Asian region formation and he has obtained MA in International Relations from the University of Colombo. His research interests and writing include Regional Integration, Regional Organizations and Global Civil Society. He has published several research papers and has presented on various aspects of International Relations.
