You want to be a fact-checker? Here's an online course for free!

IFCN

FNF and the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) developed a course to equip internet users with strategies to stem the flow of misinformation and disinformation.

The course covers the methodology of fact-checking, verification, and debunking; examples of misinformation regulation attempts; practical tools and platforms for fact-checking; and successful media literacy programs.

Fill up the form to get the access details. You can register until 31 July 2020.

IFCN is an alliance of media agencies and civil society organizations with fact-checking initiatives. Recently, it launched the Coronavirus Fact-Checking Alliance, where fact-checkers are on the front line in the fight against the infodemic.

The course is part of the Foundation’s program on media literacy to counter disinformation globally. “Media literacy can be likened to vaccination - if we know how to detect false information, then we don’t fall victim to it, and we stop it from spreading,” shares Minnie Salao, Regional Communications Manager for Southeast & East Asia.
