Business and Human Rights :

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of economies in Southeast and East Asia. They contribute to economic growth, prompt innovation, and create economic diversification.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom promotes Economic Freedom.

While we believe that businesses should be able to operate as freely as possible and that globalization has, and continues to lift millions out of poverty, we also believe that the Rule of Law and the protection of Human Rights are essential.

According to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), businesses not only have moral and legal obligations to treat their employees well, but to respect their dignity and make sure that conditions at their workplaces are humane.

We advocate for businesses – big, medium or small - to respect and protect each individual’s human rights.
