Our partner, the Hungarian Europe Society (HES), issued a new publication "The Renewal of Liberal Democracy: Vision, Strategy, Competition. Parties and Civil Society", supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.

For the publication, editor István Hegedűs selected the most intriguing papers and presentations by international authors of "The Renewal of Liberal Democracy: Vision, Strategy, Competition. Parties and Civil Society" conference. The topics dealt with the authoritarian populist challenge and the success and failures of liberal democrats.

Prior to the conference, HES organised a workshop with Hungarian experts. A summary of the workshop by Erik Uszkiewicz has been also published in English and in Hungarian.

HES is a non-governmental and non-partisan organisation based in Budapest (Hungary). It intends to be involved in the ongoing international dialogue on the future of liberal democracies and wishes to promote Hungary’s ever-deeper integration into Europe.
