Emerging Urban Mobility

A study of innovative mobility concepts and international best practice in emerging markets
publication

The urbanization process has expanded into many emerging countries. A complex mobility situation, in particular transportation infrastructure, has become a major challenge. Bad air pollution, traffic jams, and many traffic accidents are unavoidable.

Incomplete research on urban mobility for emerging countries creates a gap in providing possible solutions compared with industrialized nations. Therefore, FNF with the study “Emerging Urban Mobility” by Fraunhofer IAO aims to close the gap and make a contribution to mobility solutions.

Combining three research methods: a quantitative user survey, interviews with experts, and research into best practices, the study has covered a sample of 550 participants per country. Indonesia, Morocco, and Mexico have been selected as representative countries.

Such an advantageous study output can be utilized for city development in the future. Happy reading!
