It is a dark day for the Philippines: with almost two thirds of votes Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., son of the late dictator, won the presidential election. His victory is due to a long-planned disinformation campaign. Also the newly elected vice-president stands for an illiberal policy: she is no other than the daughter of the populist President Rodrigo Duterte.
