In early March, thousands of pro-European demonstrators gathered in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, to protest against the passing of the so-called "Foreign Agents" law, which was perceived by the majority of the population as pro-Russian. The aim of the protest was to secure the path to the EU as written in the constitution of Georgia. Despite the police crackdown on protestors, the protestors held out and the bill was voted down.
