Position: Finance and Administrative Assistant, Istanbul, Türkiye

Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Türkiye Office is seeking a Finance and Administrative Assistant to strengthen its Finance and Administration Unit in Istanbul. We are a small and dynamic team working at the intersection of liberal politics, civil society, and international dialogue. To further strengthen our financial and administrative backbone, we are looking for a reliable, structured, and detail-oriented colleague. This is a full-time position with an initial three-month probation period and the possibility of extension.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German foundation for liberal politics. It promotes freedom, human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in Germany and over 60 countries worldwide. FNF has been active in Türkiye since 1991.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on current office needs, the Finance and Administrative Assistant will support daily financial and administrative operations.

Financial Operations

  • Support the Finance Manager / Accountant in daily financial operations
  • Process invoices, payments, expense claims, and partner payments (including pre-checks)
  • Monitor petty cash and support monthly bank reconciliations
  • Collect, verify, and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for projects and office operations
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, donor regulations, and audit requirements
  • Support procurement processes and vendor documentation
  • Translate finance-related documents

Administrative Management

  • Provide general administrative support, including travel bookings and correspondence management
  • Manage office supplies and procurement requests
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Assist in organizing meetings, travel arrangements, and logistical coordination
  • Prepare official correspondence and documentation
  • Coordinate communication with service providers and relevant authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or relevant work experience)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in finance and/or administrative roles
  • Turkish citizenship
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with MS Dynamics or comparable accounting software is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (German is an asset; preferably both)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as in a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international organizations / Turkish NGOs
  • Knowledge of financial compliance and donor reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with procurement procedures
