WELEARN by Majdi Saleem
A STEPNAU-Inspired Journey of Growth and Impact
As part of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Jordan’s ongoing commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation through the STEPNAU project, we are proud to spotlight one of its most inspiring success stories: the official launch of WELEARN (We Learn Because We Can)—a digital learning platform developed by Majdi Saleem, winner of the STEPNAU 2024 Hackathon.
What began as a bright idea during STEPNAU’s intensive training has now blossomed into a fully operational business, proudly rooted in community-driven impact. WELEARN (https://welearn010.com/) aims to bridge the digital divide for students aged 10 to 17, equipping them with future-ready skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, programming, robotics, and other cutting-edge technologies—all curated by the dedicated WELEARN team.
A Milestone Moment in Souf Camp
On 7 July 2025, the journey came full circle with the official launch of WELEARN in Souf Refugee Camp in Jerash, under the support and guidance of FNF Jordan. The event was more than just a business launch—it highlighted the powerful role refugee-led initiatives can play in transforming communities.
In her opening remarks, STEPNAU Project Manager Lilian emphasised the program’s core mission:
“STEPNAU was created to support such efforts, to help people grow their skills and build stronger communities.”
Speaking to a crowd of students, local leaders, and supporters, Majdi Saleem shared the motivation behind WELEARN:
“I wanted to make learning accessible for everyone. What I’ve learned through STEPNAU is that youth have passion, but often lack the tools—we wanted to change that.”
Empowerment Through Innovation
WELEARN stands out not just for its tech-focused content, but for its inclusive and sustainable approach. The platform incorporates a social points system that rewards underprivileged students for completing tasks—allowing them to unlock free access to premium courses. This model ensures that no student is left behind due to financial limitations.
The launch of WELEARN represents more than just the success of a startup. It’s a testament to how access to training, mentorship, and community support—like that provided by STEPNAU—can ignite long-term impact. It reflects the essence of empowerment, showing that with resilience and a clear sense of purpose, innovation can thrive regardless of limitations or circumstances.
A Source of Pride for FNF Jordan
FNF Jordan is proud to have supported the launch of WELEARN—an inspiring example of how determination, innovation, and the right support can lead to meaningful change. This achievement reflects the strength of our Liberty Means & Innovation (LM&I) approach and the long-term vision behind the STEPNAU project.
We take pride not only in Majdi’s success, but in the wider impact STEPNAU continues to make by empowering individuals, fostering entrepreneurship, and strengthening communities. Milestones like this reaffirm our belief in the power of refugee-led solutions and our commitment to advancing freedom, opportunity, and innovation across the region.
