Empowering Youth with Digital Skills
STEPNAU Alumni Leads WordPress & AI Training

STEPNAU

Turning Knowledge into Impact

In an inspiring example of community-driven innovation, a STEPNAU alumnus is turning knowledge into action. What began as a journey of personal growth through the STEPNAU program has now evolved into a mission to empower others. By blending entrepreneurship, technology, and a commitment to giving back, Maher Al Tairi is leading a new wave of digital training aimed at equipping refugee and local youth in Jordan with the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital economy.

A New Chapter with MiniSTEPNAU 2025

As part of FNF’s ongoing partnership with the STEPNAU project since 2023, Maher—winner of the STEPNAU 2023 Hackathon—has launched a hands-on training course at the FNF Jordan office. His latest initiative is supported through the 2025 MiniSTEPNAU program, marking a pivotal step in his mission to scale his business as a Yemeni entrepreneur in Jordan and help others launch their own ventures.

Practical Skills for Real-World Success

The course, which began last Friday and continues across four consecutive Fridays, focuses on empowering young participants to build websites using WordPress and leverage Artificial Intelligence tools to create compelling content for small businesses.

Building a Foundation

The first session covered key foundational topics, including:
• An introduction to AI for beginners
• Overview of essential AI tools
• Hands-on exercises for practical application

“I wanted to share what I’ve learned through STEPNAU with youth who have the passion but lack the tools,” Maher shared. “By teaching them WordPress and AI basics, I hope they can support their own projects or find freelance work to support their families.”

A Ripple Effect Across Communities

This initiative not only reflects Maher’s personal and professional growth, but also embodies STEPNAU’s core mission: fostering self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and community leadership among refugee youth in Jordan.By providing hands-on experience and relevant digital skills, the course is sparking a ripple effect of opportunity—building confidence, unlocking creativity, and inspiring participants to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Toward Sustainable Futures

As the course progresses, participants are gaining practical tools that will empower them to support their families, build their own futures, and take active roles in strengthening their local communities. Through this initiative, Maher and the STEPNAU program continue to demonstrate the power of knowledge-sharing and grassroots leadership in creating sustainable, positive change.
