Second Cycle of Resilience Workshops for Arab Students at the Academic College Tel Aviv-Yaffo
jaffa College Team

Together with our partners at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo, we are proud to mark the conclusion of the second cycle of our Resilience Workshop Series for Arab Students.

This year’s program built on the groundbreaking pilot launched in late 2024, designed to support Arab psychology students in navigating the personal and professional challenges intensified by the ongoing war and uncertainty. These pioneering students returned for a second round of workshops—deepening their engagement, strengthening their resilience, and expanding their professional networks.

Throughout the sessions, participants shared how the workshops helped them gain a better understanding of themselves, their surroundings, and the complex realities they face. With the inspiring guidance of facilitator Rawan Bisharat, they explored themes of identity, belonging, and integration—while also supporting one another through emotionally demanding practicum experiences. Discovering new spaces in Jaffa together also brought a deeper sense of connection and safety.

The safe and supportive space created throughout the program fostered not only emotional resilience but also academic and professional growth. As we look ahead, we are exploring how to develop this initiative further—providing students with leadership and career-building tools such as public speaking and mentoring. We are excited about the potential of this remarkable group to become mentors for future cohorts.

It was a true pleasure to listen to the students' reflections and a great honor to have College President Prof. Galia Sabar join us at the final session.

Congratulations to all participants for their commitment, insight, and courage—and heartfelt thanks to Rawan Bisharat for her thoughtful and professional facilitation, and to Idit Seltenreich for her leadership in this valuable partnership.
