A holistic Euro-Mediterranean approach to Migration- European Network of Liberal Experts

At FNF Madrid, earlier this week we hosted a meeting with migration experts from Renew Europe, the liberal caucus in the European Parliament (EP), and from ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party), the pan-European liberal party family, which are part of the European Network of Liberal Experts on Migration launched by the FNF Madrid office, in 2020.

Legal Defeat for Hungary and Poland

This morning, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) announced a landmark ruling, in which it rejected Hungary's and Poland's challenges to the rule of law conditionality in the allocation of EU funds. What does the ruling mean for the EU in general and the future of democracy and the rule of law in Hungary and Poland?

Ten Years of the Academy of Liberal Politics

The first Academy of Liberal Politics (ALP) began in February 2012 and lasted until June of the same year. The biggest structural change that has taken place since then has certainly been the introduction of a two-semester programme starting with the fourth generation of students in 2014. From then until today, ten generations of exceptional students from all over Serbia have passed through our academy.

Africa in 2022?
Africa In 2022
04.02.2022 Jeffrey Moyo

What's in store for Africa in 2022?

January has passed, but what's in store for Africa for the rest of 2022? A number of countries will be hosting elections of some form in 2022. The eyes of the world will be on the African continent assessing whether there is progress on some thorns that have hindered Africa’s image in the past. Will we see a drop in human rights violations? Will there be efficient economic progress to lift people out of poverty. Or will it be more of the same talk and no action?

ASEAN in disarray

Consensus-based policies and unity are supposed to be the hallmarks of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Now a freewheeling ASEAN-chair has plunged the regional block into a crisis of unity and direction.

The road to the Quirinal

While this article will be published, it is not excluded that what I have written will seem completely out of date. And from the time it is published until the end of the voting for the Presidency of the Italian Republic, things will be bound to change again. Needless to say, the best, or rather the worst, of Italian politics can be expected during the vote.

Chinas doppeltes Spiel in Myanmar
