FNF Myanmar launch a social media campaign on privacy
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation Myanmar (FNF) and Cyberbaykin launch a social media campaign on privacy with 38 comics submitted by 30 famous cartoonists from Myanmar. Among the cartoonists are prominent artists like APK, Maung Maung Fountain and Lagun Eain. The artists will also explain how they get inspiration to draw their submitted cartoons.

Survey on Political News Consumption of First-Time Voters
Approximately five million first time voters are eligible for the general elections on November 8. Their votes will clearly have a huge impact on the election results and Myanmar’s future democracy.
Their voting behaviour is likely to be strongly influenced by how and through which media they obtain their political information. This is especially true in the times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the importance of the media has increased. -
Comics Raising Awareness of Privacy
In Myanmar, many people consider privacy a foreign concept. Under the decade-long rule of the socialist military junta, citizens were not supposed to have a secluded private life.FNF Myanmar later launched these comics online. Myanmar Now wins Digital Courage Fellowship 2020
Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Myanmar awards the media organization Myanmar Now with the Digital Courage Fellowship 2020. The media house can use the grant amounting to 2000 USD for a in-depth research on a freedom related topic. Nominees must be Myanmar citizens or an organization formed by Myanmar citizens.

Phyu Phyu Thi
In Myanmar, where disinformation is pervasive, the role of journalists is often undermined. Media literacy advocate Phyu Phyu Thi holds the line and seeks out new paths for “edutainment” in order to never allow the truth to become compromised.Part of Phyu Phyu’s work is to design media literacy programs, the most recent of which being MIL Kyi (Just Ask), a video broadcast that deals with the issue of disinformation.

Starting a Podcast Revolution in Myanmar
False news and hate speech are a huge problem in Myanmar. The Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation for Freedom works with a local media houses to tackle the problem using podcasts. The new audio format can make a small contribution to improve the quality of the public debate and to lower susceptibility to false news among media consumers.
