From Poland with Love - April

This month main concern is the ban of imports off grain and other Ukrainian food. Meanwhile the polish government is also conducting changes in the in voting laws, depraving Poles living abroad from their voting rights. Furthermore Poland has reduced its record daily fines of EUR 1 million for judical reforms that undermine the independence of the courts were cut in half by the European Court of Justice. Bosnia and Herzegovina

New government in the Federation with liberals in it

Naša stranka, the liberal party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, participates in the new government of the federation level with two ministers: Nasiha Pozder as Minister of Environment and Tourism, and Amir Hasičević as Minister of Trade. The government of the Federation of BiH was finally approved after protracted government formation talks and despite series of blockades and obstructions by outgoing parties, SDA and DF.

Liberal Forces Unify to Face Security Issues in the MENA Region

Liberal Networks in the MENA Region unify to address security challenges, prioritizing the expansion of Al Hurriya Liberal Network (AHLN). Twelve political parties and NGOs actively participate in the General Assembly, presenting institutional visions and recommendations. Their collaborative efforts focus on promoting liberal solutions and advocating for action within regional decision-making bodies.

Serbia

Liberal Serbian Foundation Included in European Think Tank Network

One cannot claim that liberalism is exactly flourishing in Serbia. Nevertheless, successes for liberal politics in Serbian society and beyond can be seen: for example, three representatives of the party “Movement of Free Citizens (PSG)” were elected to the Serbian parliament in the last parliamentary election. Also, due to its clear liberal and pro-European values, the party was accepted as a full member to the European liberal ALDE party in December 2022.
