Outsider shakes up Kenya's election campaign: Why is the exotic Wajackoyah doing so well?

George Wajackoyah is an enigmatic personality in many respects: both his appearance and his theses are provocative. But why does the exotic Wajackoyah go down so well? His success highlights the dilemma facing Kenyan voters in the presidential elections on 9 August: The candidates of the political establishment do not represent a bold departure that Kenya so desperately needs.

Chinas influence in Germany: Academia and Media are the Achilles Heel

Is Germany a target of Chinese influencing operations? Germany’s Academia and Media are highly affected by Chinese influence operations, the Taiwanese ThinkTank DoublethinkLab found. A combination of naiveté and lack of regulation on the German side enables the PRC to exploit Germany’s one-sided openness for its purposes.

Use of Technologies in the Russia-Ukraine War

Technological development has led to an improvement in military operations and tactics. The Russian invasion of Ukraine clearly shows how new technologies have changed traditional warfare. The question arises as to what new methods and tools are used in contemporary warfare and how these changes have altered conventional thinking about an invasion campaign.

The Russian Invasion of Ukraine – A new Impetus for Morocco’s politico-economic Aspirations

A closer look at recent food consumption price hikes reveals: The Kingdom of Morocco is suffering considerably less on a comparative, regional scale (8.6% increase compared to 13.6% in Algeria and 24.8% in Egypt). Entrepreneurship between two shores

Mediterranean basin, two shores, 24 countries spread over three continents, being born on one shore or the other determines the prerequisites for starting a self-employed activity in Spain. These requirements are simpler in the case of being a national of a European Union country, given that access to residence with work authorisation is quicker and with fewer administrative hurdles.

Understanding the Barriers and Benefits to Female Representation in Politics

Across the EU, around 33% of members of national parliaments are female, which might not seem so bad, but considering that women make up 54,6% of the EU’s population, this goes to show that they are heavily underrepresented in the democratic processes.

Spain is on the right path for more equal opportunities.

The participation of women in the different spheres of political power has increased notably in Spain in recent years. Legislation in Spain intents to promote female representation, e.g. one of the laws which advocate equality between men and women, states, "The achievement of real and effective equality in our society requires not only the commitment of public subjects, but also their decisive impetus in the orbit of relations between individuals".

Another Round of Early Elections in Israel – How Will it Look?

While United States President Joe Biden was scheduled to meet PM Bennett in Jerusalem, Yair Lapid was already able to show diplomatic qualities on the world stage as new Prime Minister of Israel in his stead. If this government proved more stable, Lapid would have only become Prime Minister next year. Nevertheless, with the Israeli Knesset voting unanimously to disband on June 30, 2022, November 1, 2022, was set as the date for early elections and Lapid became PM.

A turning point in Europe: Facing the light

The Russian attack on Ukraine is a turning point for the liberal forces. It is already foreseeable that the spring of 2022 will be looked back upon in a similar way as the autumn of 1989. Now Europe must protect freedom like a tender seedling. It is now a matter of generally understanding itself as part of a global network of life that will be characterised by particular resilience due to its inner diversity.

The impact of the Russian war of aggression on Ukrainian livestock production

Before the Russian war of aggression began, Ukrainian farmers kept over 1.6 million cattle. In the first three months of the war alone, Ukrainian dairy farms lost at least 50,000 cattle. The value of the farm animals that have died so far is estimated at over 136 million US dollars. But there is no end in sight to the death of the herds. But what is driving the cattle deaths?
