From February 26 to 27, 2025, Butuan City was filled with energy and a strong commitment to democracy as the People Power Volunteers for Reform (PPVR) Caraga, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Philippines, organized a series of productive events focused on voter education and the promotion of democratic values. The activities aimed to reach diverse groups, including youth and rural communities.

Love Wins for All - Same Sex Marriage Law Takes Effect in Thailand

Thailand's new same-sex marriage law allows couples, regardless of their gender orientation, to marry, adopt, receive medical care and inherit. Celebrations are held across the country as the same-sex marriage law comes into effect. For the first time, Thailand is enforcing the Marriage Equality Law, which was passed by the Thai Parliament and endorsed by the King last year. The new law uses gender-neutral terms such as "individuals" and "marriage partners" instead of "husbands", "wives", "men" and "women". It also grants adoption and inheritance rights to same-sex couples.
