Between Repression and Hope: Being Queer in Poland

Poland is currently experiencing challenges regarding the rights and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Poland's history is marked by both periods of relative tolerance, but also periods of intense persecution. The current political situation is deeply divided. The country used to be and still is strongly shaped by the influence of the Church and the very conservative views followed by the practiced catholicism, but slowly there is change to be seen in this.

The Future of Nearshoring and Trade Between the European Union and Mexico

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the strategic value of Latin America and the Caribbean to the EU has increased. Mexico in particular offers a historic opportunity: a better trade relationship between Mexico and the EU would strengthen cooperation on climate change, human rights, and anti-corruption. The conclusion of a new, modernized agreement would also send a clear signal to the world that both Mexico and the EU reject protectionism.

The migration of young Mediterranean talent and the challenge of employability

Qualified migration is a societal challenge facing the Mediterranean region and the world today. The global race for talent has already begun. Ongoing economic changes and employability have an impact on this important segment of international migration. Graduate unemployment is a determining factor in the brain drain and migration of qualified young people from the Mediterranean.

In search of refuge

Discrimination and exclusion are unfortunately a reality for the migrant community and asylum seekers in Mexico. In a context where homophobia and lack of awareness are a daily reality in Mexico, the question arises about the situation of the LGBT+ migrant population in the country: Why are public policies and intervention programs tailored to specific needs necessary?

Berlusconi's legacy continues to have an impact

Silvio Berlusconi, the dazzling, controversial media entrepreneur, has significantly changed Italy's party landscape through his many years of power - including media power. With the restructuring of the Italian right, Berlusconi's policies contributed massively to the emergence of a bipolar party system. Populism from the left and the right have since become part of the political mainstream; from the left-wing populist 5-Star Movement and to the far-right "Brothers of Italy," whose leader Giorgia Meloni has led the country's fortunes since her election victory last September.

The future of public spaces

What is the future of public spaces? How does urban law influence the improvement of regulatory frameworks? Why is public innovation necessary?
