The position at the Johannesburg based German non-governmental organisation requires an individual with sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of financial administration. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent with 3-5 years’ work experience. The position requires excellent computer skills, (MS Office) knowledge of computerised accounting, preferably BC17 and be willing to learn new software applications. Good communication and interpersonal skills and team spirit are a prerequisite, as is the ability to work under pressure, whilst maintaining professional work ethics. Experience in dealing with complex donor requirements in the NGO sector will be of great advantage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meticulous auditing of accounted transactions and supporting documentation according to FNF guidelines;
- Timeous compilation of voucher audit reports for the respective working units in various project offices throughout Africa;
- Communication with project offices in the Region and Head Office in Germany;
- Guidance of colleagues in other working units on applicable guidelines, their interpretation and application in day-to-day work;
- Attendance of training programmes and assistance with training;
- Any other duties related to this position as required by the organisation.
Excellent competency of English is mandatory and good competency of German would be an advantage, both spoken and written.
Remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
