The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has been operating in Israel since 1982 and began its Palestinian work in 1994. With an Israeli-Palestinian team in a joint office in Jerusalem the foundation aims to be a platform of innovation for enhancing freedom in society, strengthening dialogue with the European Union and contributing to the advancement of Israeli-Palestinian dialogue. Together with our partners, we want to strengthen liberal values like the rule of law, respect of human dignity with civil and human rights, market economy principles and entrepreneurship and a democratic culture of tolerance and pluralism.

A new policy brief by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) examines the implications of President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan, announced on 29 September 2025. While the plan succeeded in establishing a rapid ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, PSR’s analysis warns that its early success may obscure deeper flaws. According to PSR, the proposal stops the fighting but does not confront the underlying political realitie like a fragmented Palestinian leadership, unresolved sovereignty, and public attitudes. As a result, a technocratic and externally driven framework is unlikely to produce a durable peace. The conclusions and recommendations presented in the brief reflect PSR’s independent analysis and do not necessarily represent the views of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

The Palestinian Youth Forum for Freedom and Democracy (PYFD) has concluded the project “Election Simulation: The Road to Local Councils and Municipalities.” Through three dynamic workshops, 250 young Palestinians from universities and schools experienced the full electoral process, from voter registration to announcing results, in a real-life simulation! 🤩🤩🤩 Three lists: liberal, conservative, and moderate Islamic, competed with their own programs and slogans in a lively debate and virtual election held with the Central Elections Commission. This inspiring initiative empowered youth with the values of active citizenship, dialogue, and democratic participation, nurturing a politically aware generation ready to lead change in Palestine.
