Job Announcement: Project Manager (Maternity Leave Replacement – Minimum 6 Months)

For our Israeli-Palestinian team in Jerusalem, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is seeking a Project Manager to cover a maternity leave position for a minimum period of six months (with the possibility of extension).

FNF serves as a platform for innovation aimed at enhancing freedom in society, strengthening dialogue with the European Union, and contributing to Israeli-Palestinian dialogue. Role Overview

The Project Manager will support the Head of Office in the planning, design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities, as well as related administrative and financial processes.

The role covers projects managed by the FNF Jerusalem Office and may include additional assignments as requested by the Head of Office.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Planning

  • Contribute to the development of annual plans for assigned projects
  • Draft concept notes and activity proposals
  • Coordinate with partners to define cooperation frameworks
  • Design program content, engage experts, and align with partners
  • Maintain and update activity plans and timelines
  • Develop budgets in coordination with the Financial Officer
  • Support funding applications and reporting processes

2. Implementation of Activities

  • Identify and coordinate trainers, speakers, and participants
  • Oversee logistics (venues, accommodation, transportation, interpretation, etc.)
  • Moderate and facilitate events when needed
  • Document activities and prepare narrative reports
  • Ensure proper follow-up, documentation, and archiving
  • Coordinate closely with internal team members and partners
  • Review and process financial documentation

3. Evaluation and Analysis

  • Evaluate activities and propose next steps
  • Regularly brief the Head of Office on progress and strategy
  • Maintain and expand relevant stakeholder networks
  • Monitor political and social developments and provide analytical input

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong understanding of Palestinian social dynamics and political context
  • Commitment to liberal values and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic team
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic (written and spoken)
  • Hebrew and/or German is an asset
  • Valid driving license
