The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has been present in Greece since 2012 and is based in Athens. By strengthening liberal forces and conveying liberal values and positions, the Greece Office contributes to the development and consolidation of a pluralist democracy and an open, market economy and rule of law in Greece. It is committed to preserving freedom of action with the aim of strengthening European values in Greece.
Event: Next Stage Sustainability Bootcamp 2023
The Next Stage Sustainability Bootcamp 2023 took place between November 3rd and 12th. It was organized by the Alexander Innovation Zone in Thessaloniki and implemented by Ideas Forward, with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Greece & Cyprus. The event supported teams whose efforts were related to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and targeted the Energy and Agri-Food sectors.
21st International Youth Conference
The 21st IYC in North Macedonia was a unique opportunity to exchange views and ideas on current issues that concern the region, the exploration of cooperation perspectives, and the resolution of chronic pathologies through Civil Society. The aim was to achieve this by adopting a "bottom-up" approach, in response to the rigidity of state mechanisms and the frequent lack of political will from the region's leadership to take "bold" initiatives.
Empowering Greece's female future
In the vibrant city of Athens, a group of progressive women recently gathered for the second session of the Political Leadership Development Training, organized by the Liberal Alliance (FISY) and supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Greece and Cyprus. The central theme of this session was clear and compelling: empowering and preparing women to take an active role in Greek politics.
Call for Papers: Conference “The challenges of liberal democracy today”
On December 4-5, 2023, the Center for Liberal Studies and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Greece and Cyprus, in cooperation with distinguished scientific institutions, organize in Athens an academic conference under the topic “The challenges of liberal democracy today”. The conference is organized in the framework of the global dialogue campaign "Reshape Europe" on how Europe can become more resilient against the opponents of freedom and liberal democracy, and more effective in dealing with the great contemporary challenges.
