The Friedrich Naumann Foundation Beirut Office is focused on Lebanon and it's people. Regional and local turmoil makes the work of the foundation in this country challenging, forcing our office in Beirut to constantly adapt to new social and political changes.In Lebanon, our main objective is to support Lebanese start-ups, civil society organizations and liberal political parties while raising awareness about political education, female empowerement and durable development.

IAF Alumni Network Night
Once again, we have gathered our unique IAF Alumni network for a yearly gathering! We hosted a dynamic event that consisted of a comedy show and a musical comedy performance that made our participants laugh and take a break from life's stress. The event took place at Blue House Tea Salon in the heart of Beirut and was concluded by a socializing period. To all who attended and participated in the event's success, a big thank you!

Females Lead In Politics (FLIP).
Out of need progress is forged. Following the obvious lack of female representation and involvement in Lebanese politics, we have launched and executed a progressive project in partnership with AFAAL that consisted of online trainings to 30 participants and a 3 day boot-camp with more than 8 trainers that aimed to prepare and help female activists and leaders better perform in the next electoral race!

Liberal Alphabet S ''Seeking freedom, Women Leading Protests''
On November 9th, we held our Liberal Alphabet S event that consisted of the screening of our Women Leading Protests film followed by a dynamic Q&A with journalist Luna Safwan featured in the film. The discussion was moderated by Verena El Amil and then shifted into an interactive discussion with the participants. Special thanks to Union Marks for providing drinks and bites and a charming venue!

Data Journalism School
Our data journalists in the making have been immersed in an intensive online program that prepares them to deal with data-driven stories. From gathering and collecting data, to cleaning, analysing, and visualizing the findings, 10 Lebanese and Syrian journalists will be able to acquire all the needed tools to present their own data stories at the end of the program.

Model Youth Parliament 2021
Another successful edition of Model Youth Parliament took place at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut, gathering students from all parts of the country, all of them united by the passion and engagement towards building a better and more politically correct country.
