Public Survey
Public Survey on Sociopolitical Landscape in Lebanon
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Lebanon & Syria, in partnership with Ipsos in Lebanon, presents two nationwide public opinion surveys examining Lebanon’s evolving sociopolitical landscape ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections.
The initial survey, conducted between December 2025 and January 2026, provides a comprehensive snapshot of Lebanese public opinion on governance, economic reform, political participation, regional insecurity, and foreign influence. Based on 1,200 face-to-face interviews across all Lebanese governorates, the findings reveal widespread dissatisfaction with political and economic management, strong demand for institutional reform, and continued belief in elections as a pathway for change.
The follow-up survey, conducted between March and April 2026 and based on 1,100 interviews nationwide, tracks how public perceptions evolved amid ongoing political, economic, and security developments. It explores shifts in attitudes toward governance, displacement, economic recovery, trust in institutions, regional tensions, and political alignment, while highlighting both growing demands for stability and reform, and persistent regional and community-level polarization shaping Lebanon’s political landscape.
Together, the two reports offer a comparative overview of changing public sentiment in Lebanon during a critical political period, providing insight into citizen priorities, reform expectations, and perceptions of national and regional developments.
