The chairman of the board of directors of FNF, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Karl-Heinz Paqué, accepted an invitation by FNF Madrid to address a Mediterranean Conference in the Spanish capital in May, focusing on current economic opportunities in the region. We are thankful for his insightful analysis on the given geopolitical and macroeconomic situation. Prof. Paqué suggested in particular that digitization could help unemployed youngsters from developing nations, e.g. in Africa, to use their talent and education to market digital products in Europe. We believe this is a fantastic idea to foster cooperation, growth and (digital) trade between the two regions and it goes very much in line with our project work which focusses, amongst other issues, on economic opportunities for young people in the Mediterranean region. It is upon liberals to create the necessary legal frameworks to grant access to digital markets in Europe.
