Media Meets Geopolitics
Journalism, International Relations and Geopolitical Conflicts

A comprehensive training on journalism, international relations, and geopolitical conflicts was held with the African Center for the Development of Journalists and Communicators (CAPJC) in Sfax, Tunisia, from May 28 to 30. The program brought together participants for an intensive exploration of the complex interplay between media, global politics, and conflict dynamics.
The training began with an overview of major contemporary geopolitical doctrines, offering participants a deep dive into the strategic visions that shape current international affairs. This was followed by a foundational session on the key concepts of international relations, helping attendees build a strong theoretical framework for understanding diplomacy, global systems, and power relations.
Participants also explored the nature of contemporary conflicts, focusing on asymmetrical warfare and its implications for global security. Alongside these discussions, the training introduced essential techniques for writing journalistic pieces on geopolitical and international topics, emphasizing the importance of context, precision, and analytical depth in reporting.
In the final segment, attention turned to the regional energy map and its strategic consequences. The training concluded with a session on the global political-financial landscape, including reflections on the increasing fusion between financial power and political decision-making in recent years.
Held over three days, this program combined theoretical insight with practical tools, empowering journalists and communicators to better navigate and interpret the rapidly shifting global landscape.
