FNF Tunisia & Libya: A Milestone in Building Tunisia’s Green Hydrogen Academic Consortium
In a historic step toward positioning Tunisia as a regional leader in renewable energy and green hydrogen research, FNF Tunisia & Libya has played a decisive role in the creation of a national scientific consortium uniting the country’s most respected academic and research figures.
The initiative, which follows the success of Power-to-X (October 2024) and Net Pathway (April 2024) two flagship events jointly organized with the National Engineering School of Monastir (ENIM) marks the culmination of FNF’s sustained efforts to build bridges between academia, innovation, and policy.
The newly launched TEC-H2 Consortium brings together experts, professors, young researchers, and institutional actors, including the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technology (DGRST), to coordinate research on green hydrogen technologies and their economic, environmental, and industrial applications.
This momentous achievement positions FNF Tunisia & Libya as a strategic enabler of Tunisia’s energy transition, contributing to the country’s national and international commitments in the fight against climate change. The consortium embodies the Foundation’s vision of rational, evidence-based policymaking a bulwark against populist and uninformed discourse around energy and sustainability.
As underlined by Professor Chiheb Bouden during the inaugural meeting, TEC-H2 aligns perfectly with Tunisia’s long-term objectives for clean energy and industrial innovation. Supported by ENIM’s leadership and FNF’s facilitation, the consortium now stands as a powerful academic task force capable of shaping Tunisia’s hydrogen roadmap, influencing regional cooperation, and informing carbon adjustment strategies by 2026.
By fostering collaboration between universities, engineers, and private-sector experts, FNF has succeeded in transforming dialogue into concrete institutional progress. This consortium is not only a scientific milestone but a policy accelerator a testament to FNF’s enduring commitment to freedom, innovation, and sustainable development in Tunisia and beyond.
