More than a mere broadcast, it's a call to action for like-minded youth across the continent to join in and share their stories, contributing to the dispelling of outdated stereotypes about Africa as the "dark continent."
Through vibrant narratives and enlightening interviews, the series sheds light on Africa's multifaceted potential across various sectors. From its dynamic economy, bustling with growth in technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and services, showcased through inspiring entrepreneurs, to its emergence as a global epicenter of innovation and technology, where pioneers lead the charge, the program paints a picture of a continent on the journey of transformation.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: We speak to Mike Mulcahy, the CEO of GreenCape. GreenCape a South Africa-based organisation that supports businesses and investors in the green economy to remove barriers to establishment and growth and supports local, provincial and national government to build a resilient green economy. He shares crucial insights for potential investors on what they can look out for in the sustainable economy in Africa.

INFRASTRUCTURE REVOLUTION: Nelson Boateng and his team at Nelplast Eco Ghana Limited are killing two birds with one stone by ridding the state capital of filth and providing affordable building materials made from plastic waste. He says it is important to look into new materials that can help speed up infrastructure development in Africa.

CULTURAL WEALTH: There is no better person to speak on this topic than Magatte Wade. She came up with the idea to start a beverage company when she visited her native Senegal and found that cola had replaced traditional hibiscus drinks. Worried that the drinks and the heritage would be lost, Wade approached Greg Steltenpohl, who had recently left as head of Odwalla Inc.

A New Image of Africa_X Spaces conversation series

A New Image of Africa initiative successfully achieved its goal of promoting African entrepreneurship and innovation. By bringing together a diverse group of speakers and start-ups, the event provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing African entrepreneurs today. With over 110 start-ups registered in its database and hundreds of participants engaged in the virtual discussions (133 live listeners and is viewed by 938 users and growing), the initiative highlighted the continent’s entrepreneurial energy and potential.
