Connecting the Dots

Connecting the Dots is a podcast series developed by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, as a part of its 2023 global theme –‘Reshape Europe’. The series is being continued post-2024 by the FNF South Asia Office under the same title. The podcast series aims to facilitate a conversation between scholars, public policy experts, entrepreneurs, and experts from South Asia and Europe on themes and issues of common concern such as the emerging energy crisis, the future of trade, queer politics, and others.

The podcast aims to bridge the gap between seemingly disparate cultures, fostering an exchange of ideas and knowledge under various themes. Against the backdrop of global events such as the Ukraine War, the Gaza Conflict, and many more, the retreat of liberalism and its way of life becomes even more pronounced. Europe, with a focus on Germany, is grappling with numerous challenges exacerbated by the aftermath of the pandemic. The war in Ukraine initiated by Russia has prompted a critical reassessment of security and defense policies, intensified energy crises, and led to a significant influx of migrants.

Amid these complex issues, there arises a pressing need to cultivate and strengthen connections grounded in the core values of liberalism. The podcast series aims to contribute to this crucial dialogue, emphasizing the importance of sustaining liberal principles in the face of geopolitical upheavals, economic challenges, and humanitarian crises. Through thoughtful conversations and shared perspectives, the podcast series will seek to promote understanding, resilience, and unity in support of liberal ideals during these turbulent times.
