MENA League Simulation
Amman, Jordan – 8–13 September 2025
Tomorrow, Amman will host the MENA League Simulation, a five-day training workshop and simulation organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. Scheduled to take place from 8 to 13 September 2025. The program is designed to prepare participants to better understand the mechanisms of the Arab League Model and to strengthen their skills in governance, diplomacy, legal frameworks, and media engagement.
The workshop will offer participants a comprehensive learning journey that moves beyond theory and into practice. In the opening days, participants will be introduced to the foundations of governance and the legal frameworks of the Arab League, with sessions on its organizational structure, the role of the Arab Parliament, and the procedures behind council meetings and regulatory reforms. This will be followed by a focus on reports and minutes writing, where participants will develop the technical skills required to document discussions and decisions effectively — a cornerstone of transparency and institutional accountability.
As the program advances, attention will shift toward protocol and diplomacy, an area that is vital for anyone seeking to engage in regional or international affairs. Through intensive training in diplomatic speechwriting, body language, and media strategies, participants will practice how to craft and deliver statements, respond to challenging questions, and manage public appearances with professionalism. These sessions are designed to simulate the pressures and responsibilities faced by diplomats and policymakers in real-world settings.
The highlight of the program will come on the final day with a full Arab League simulation session. This exercise will allow participants to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout the week in an interactive, realistic environment. By stepping into the roles of delegates and decision-makers, they will engage in debates, draft resolutions, and experience first-hand the complexities of multilateral negotiation and cooperation in the Arab world.
By combining institutional knowledge with hands-on practice, the MENA League Simulation aims to empower a new generation of young leaders with the tools to participate meaningfully in regional dialogue. As the Middle East and North Africa continue to face pressing political, social, and economic challenges, initiatives like this play a crucial role in preparing future leaders to navigate these complexities with confidence, competence, and vision.
