Are you passionate about democracy, transparency, and the power of artificial intelligence to improve civic life?
Join the Engineer for Democracy Challenge, a unique initiative co-organized by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and Blum Institute, taking place during the Kiss the Future AI Summit in Sarajevo. We are calling on young changemakers, AI enthusiasts, policymakers, and civic innovators to propose bold and creative ideas for AI-powered tools that enhance democratic engagement, transparency, and citizen participation.
Selected participants will form interdisciplinary teams and develop their ideas with expert mentoring from FNF and Blum Institute. The winning team will receive a prize of 2,000 KM, and pitch their idea on the Applied AI: Business and Creativity Stage of the Summit (26 September).
🔹 The solution must be new (not an existing product)
🔹 You don’t need a fully built product – a Proof of Concept is enough
🔹 Any programming language is acceptable
🔹 Travel and accommodation for selected applicants will be fully covered
