FNF-KLID Seminar on Smart City and AI

On September 3, 2020, FNF Korea office and its partner Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute (KLID) jointly held a seminar on “Smart City and AI” as the second in the series of seminars on the 4th Industrial Revolution.

As a follow up of the first seminar on the topic in July, which dealt with general policies and cases related to artificial intelligence, the second seminar focused on aspects of AI in relation to Smart City. Smart Mobility and Smart Health. It aimed for participants to learn about the use cases and artificial intelligence roles related to Smart Cities.

In the presentation session, Tae-wook Heo, Professor of Gyeongsang National University, talked about AI and its use in smart health. He clarified the AI function of Smart Health in our daily life, which explained to the audience that AI is not a technological device in the far future.

Meanwhile, Seung-nyeo Son, Director of Intelligent Transport Society of Korea, presented on the potential outcome of Smart Mobility based on the AI. In particular, the topic focused on mobility as a service.

According to the necessity of holding a non-contact event due to Covid-19, the event was live-streamed on YouTube, with only organizing staff on site. With more than 400 pre-registered audiences, many of them watched on YouTube on a real-time basis throughout the seminar. They were extremely active in participating in the seminar through the chatroom, asking many questions to experts, and discussing them.
