Request for Proposal: Coordinator for our Bilateral Forums - ME 2.0 & TICSF

Brief Project Overview:

The Jerusalem office of Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF Jerusalem) needs a coordinator that can coordinate, manage and moderate two projects of FNF, namely the MIDDLE EAST 2.0 –Palestinian Israeli Young Business Leaders Forum (ME 2.0 Forum) and the Turkish-Israeli Civil Society Forum (TICSF).

Who we are

With a unique Israeli-Palestinian team, FNF Jerusalem aims to be a platform of innovation for enhancing freedom in society, strengthening dialogue with the EU and contribute to the advancement of Israeli-Palestinian dialogue leading towards peace. Together with our partners, we want to strengthen liberal values like the rule of law and democracy, the respect of human dignity with civil and human rights, market economy principles and entrepreneurship and a democratic culture of tolerance and pluralism.

Project Goals and Target Audience

ME 2.0 Forum: In order to strengthen and renew the community of the ME 2.0 Forum we need a coordinator with conflict management background and skills, who will be responsible to conceptualize organize, manage and moderate a minimum of 4 networking events over the year, which should serve to strengthen and renew the network of Israeli and Palestinian Young Business Leaders. The coordinator is also requested to design and prepare a new sub-project (ME 3.0) and finalize its preparation and conceptualize organize, manage and moderate the launch event for the new training program. The coordinator is also requested to maintain the forum’s website. The proposal needs creative ideas how to conduct this minimum of 4 events  and the new sub group training program (ME 3.0) in a meaningful way to strengthen network, build and manage the community, and value discussions on improving cooperation and concrete solutions.

TICSF: In order to improve Israeli-Turkish relations through civil society cooperation, we need new efforts to connect young leaders from both countries, create a Facebook livestreams to reach new audiences, organize one physical seminar in Istanbul and also improve the website of TICSF to become more attractive.

Scope of Work and Deliverables

ME 2.0 Forum: We need a service provider that can:

  1. Maintain the forum’s website
  2. Facilitate sensitive discussions between Israeli and Palestinian young business leaders.
  3. Organize and manage a series of events (a minimum of 4) for the Israeli and Palestinian Young Business Leaders. The series of events should touch upon relevant topics for the bilateral entrepreneurship group such as new and important economic trends and developments in the region, critical geopolitical developments, hurdles to bilateral economic cooperation, upgrade networking   etc. and should include following formats:
  • One full day study tour to a relevant venue or project
  • One zoom event (1.5. h)
  • Two physical sessions of 2.5 hours for knowledge building, networking and value debate and ideation and self-presentation of members.
  1. Design and prepare a new sub-project (ME 3.0) a capacity building program for young Palestinian and Israeli entrepreneurs/business people, training them how to do business in the MENA region and launch the new project in autumn. This sub-project requires the following services/responsibilities:

 

  • Define guiding questions for two research works (one on Israeli and one on Palestinian side, each 12-15 pages), on what skills and knowledge are required for Israeli and Palestinian entrepreneurs interested to conduct business collaboration in MENA region? Identify relevant researchers and follow up on finalization of the research phase (2 months)
  • Based on research outcomes, design and write the training program’s agenda, strategy and detailed steps of implementation including identifying and recruiting professionals and prospect lecturers
  • Participation in preparation meetings with FNF staff, professionals, and prospect lecturers
  • Recruitment of 20 Israeli and Palestinian participants (including writing the application form and distribute it online) and final selection.
  • Coordinate with FNF staff the venues, financial framework of payments to lectures and other technical and logistic issues.
  • Conceptualize and implement and moderate the launch event of the new sub project training program in autumn 2023.

 

The coordinator needs to identify new members and design the events in a way to strengthen the community and activate them for liberal value discussions on improving cooperation and concrete solutions, while considering conflict related sensitivities.

TICSF:  we need a service provider that can:

  1. Organize  and facilitate a minimum of one online meeting of the Israeli and Turkish core group to present and discuss the goals of 2023
  2. Conceptualize, prepare, coordinate and moderate two Facebook livestreams with content from both sides to broaden the audience, deepen the knowledge and understanding between the two civil societies. The preparation also includes the marketing for the two events (preparing social media campaign and launching the campaign, inviting people and distribution of event ad via relevant WhatsApp groups).
  3. Conceptualize, prepare, coordinate and moderate a young leaders program and competition existing of 8 online sessions with the aim to positively influence the discourse about the bilateral relations between Turkey and Israel and of the young generation in the MENA region in general. The coordinator is required to fulfil the following tasks:
  • Design the content for the bilateral program “Influencers for Dialogue” which brings together young Israelis and Turks to build together social media campaigns which ought to strengthen and promote the importance and benefits of enhanced bilateral relations and cooperation between the two civil societies.
  • Design and organize the recruitment process of participants (including writing the recruitment forms) and selecting the qualified participants (in cooperation with FNF Istanbul and FNF Jerusalem).  
  • Moderating the meetings and leading discussions, ice breakers and other relevant content
  • Continuous communication with participants via mail and whatsapp
  • Teaching a course (8 hours) about digital political campaigns: preparing materials and lecturing online
  • Organizing the final campaign competition, moderating the final event and instructing the team of judges
  • Writing the final project report
  1. Conceptualize, prepare, coordinate and moderate one physical bilateral weekend seminar in Turkey/Istanbul (4 days/three overnights) for the winners of the Turkish Israeli Young Leaders seminar of 2021 and 2022.Tasks to be fulfilled:
  • Plan and design agenda for the seminar
  • Prepare materials and workshop
  • Ongoing coordination with Turkish Team
  • Actively participate in 4 day seminar in Turkey/Istanbul
  • Facilitating conversations and discussions during seminar
  • Delivering a workshop on deepening knowledge and skills related to social media campaigns
  • Writing final report on seminar

5. Management of TICSF social media platforms (website/facebook/twitter) during the year with relevant content.

The service provider has to coordinate all events in close cooperation with FNF Jerusalem and in the case of TICSF also with FNF Istanbul. The service includes report writing on each activity.
