Raif Badawi Award : Raif Badawi Award for courageous journalists

Journalists and other media professionals around the world risk their lives every day for a free press. They investigate and contribute with their reports to the free formation of opinion for all. Tirelessly. We support this commitment to independent journalism. The Raif Badawi Award for courageous journalists recognises the commitment of the particularly courageous.

The 'Badawi case' is about nothing less than the universal validity of human rights. More than seventy years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the rights we take for granted are unfortunately the exception rather than the rule in the Arab world.
