Short vita

Peter Cichon works in the Global Themes Division of Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation for Freedom. Based in Berlin, he is responsible for the topic of international media freedom. Working closely with partners in German and European media development cooperation, he also coordinates the Foundation's work on exiled media in Germany and the EU. He studied Eastern European Studies in Bonn and Potsdam and has been working at the Foundation in the International Journalism and Media Dialogue Program since 2016, after holding positions in the International Department, among others.

"Live and let live"

Even within the European Union there are some countries where same-sex couples cannot marry. This is also the case in Poland, where couples from the LGBTQ+ community are still denied the right to equality. Many of these couples decide to get married in Germany. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom interviewed one of these couples on the occassion of the International Day against Homophobia.
