FNF South Africa seeks a creative, politically aware, and strategically capable digital communications partner to support the implementation of its 2026 Digital Communications & Social Media Strategy.
Background
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German political foundation committed to advancing liberal democracy, civic participation, freedom, and human rights globally.
FNF South Africa engages South African, German, and international audiences through dialogue, leadership development, civic education, and policy engagement.
April 2026 demonstrated strong growth across FNF SA’s digital platforms, including record organic reach and measurable audience growth within Germany through bilingual English/German content and strategic storytelling linked to the DA Federal Congress and international study tour programme.
Purpose of the RFP
FNF South Africa seeks to appoint an agile, creative, and strategically capable digital communications practitioner, small agency, or collaborative team to support the Foundation’s digital growth during an initial implementation phase. FNF SA is particularly interested in emerging digital strategists and nimble teams that can work creatively, flexibly, and efficiently in a politically aware environment.

The provider will support the implementation of the Foundation’s Digital Communications & Social Media Strategy during an initial six-month implementation phase.
Scope of Work
The appointed provider will be expected to provide:
Digital Platform Management
• Facebook• Instagram• LinkedIn• YouTube• X (formerly Twitter)• TikTok
Monthly Deliverables
• Platform management and scheduling across key channels
• Approximately 6–10 designed content assets per month
• Flexible and event-driven content production
• Limited short-form video support where required
• Photography and videography on an ad hoc or event basis
• Monthly reporting dashboard and analytics
Strategic Support
• Monthly content calendar
• Campaign planning support
• Audience growth recommendations
• Cross-platform optimisation
Strategic Priorities
The appointed provider should align with the following priorities:
• Strengthen FNF South Africa’s digital identity
• Increase meaningful audience engagement
• Convert viewers into followers
• Expand German audience engagement
• Build stronger South African–German audience connections
The provider must demonstrate awareness of political, reputational, and cross-cultural communication sensitivities.
Governance and Editorial Oversight
The appointed provider will work under the strategic and editorial oversight of FNF South Africa.
All final editorial approval remains with FNF South Africa.
The provider must:
Maintain political neutrality. Avoid partisan campaigning. Manage reputational risks. Respect approval workflows. Adhere to platform and data compliance standards.
Preferred competencies
FNF SA welcomes proposals from smaller agencies, independent strategists, collaborative creative teams, or emerging digital practitioners with strong political awareness and creative instincts. Large agency infrastructure is not required.
Budget Guidance
FNF SA anticipates a lean and flexible implementation model during this initial six-month phase. Providers are encouraged to propose practical and scalable approaches.
