Office Opening
Liberal Network During and After the Elections: Networking Event with Partners and Alumni

On May 6th, Friedrich Naumann Foundation Turkey Office hosted a networking event with partners and alumni to celebrate the opening of their new office and talk about what to expect before and after the presidential and parliamentary elections of May 2023. The event was marked by the presence of the Turkey Director, Beate Apelt, and the ESEE Director, Martin Kothé, who welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of the liberal network and its role in promoting liberal values in Turkey.

One of the highlights of the event was the input given by Can Selçuki, FNF Türkiye partner and co-founder of the polling company Istanbul Economics Research. Selçuki focused on the polling results of the upcoming 2023 elections and discussed the mood of the society with the attendees. He also provided insights into what civil society could expect after the elections. The speech was followed by a Q&A session, which allowed the participants to interact with Selçuki and clarify their doubts. Furthermore, the partner shared their plans on how to continue civil society work according to the outcome of the elections.

The networking event is an important opportunity towards strengthening ties among liberal stakeholders, and the opening of the new office marked a milestone in the foundation's commitment to its mission in Turkey. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation Turkey Office is dedicated to promoting liberal values and supporting civil society in Turkey, and this event was a testament to its commitment to this cause.
