What distinguishes both female founders and male founders in the start-up scene is their high level of education. Both genders have mostly graduated from university before founding a company. They have business, technical and digital knowledge, and all-important success factors for innovation and growth.

But the start-up scene is still a gentlemen's club. Women are still in the minority and there is a gender bias when it comes to funding: female founders receive significantly less capital from business angels and venture capital funds. Why is it that women so rarely gain a foothold in the start-up scene? What challenges do female founders face and how can the situation be improved?

Together with female entrepreneurs and venture capitalists from Germany and India, we want to discuss how the hurdles can be overcome and the potentials of women can be promoted to strengthen the diversity in the start-up scene.
