David Henneberger - Head of Office

David Henneberger heads the Madrid office being responsible for Spain, Italy, Portugal and an all-new regional dialogue program in the Mediterranean. Mr Henneberger joined the foundation in 2009 and has since worked in Germany, Mexico and Central America, Indonesia and South Africa. As an economist he is especially interested in equal opportunities for all, a favorable framework for startups and entrepreneurship and a European Union, which is enabled to deliver – within the union and externally. Our 38-year old colleague from Hamburg, Germany, is fluent in German, English and Spanish.

Rahel Zibner - Project Manager Spain, Italy & Portugal

Rahel Zibner joined FNF in 2015. As project manager for Spain, Italy and Portugal she focuses on promoting liberal forces and solutions to specific challenges in Southern Europe and the dialogue on the future of European integration. Before moving to Madrid, she was responsible for the delivery of the foundation’s international visiting programmes. Prior she worked at Robert Bosch Foundation and as Project Director for the “Minsk Forum” at the German-Belarusian Society (dbg). Rahel Zibner holds an Erasmus-Mundus double master degree in Economy, State and Society (IMESS) from University College London (UCL) and Charles University Prague and a BA in European Studies from the University of Bremen.

Odilia Abreu - Project Manager Mediterranean Dialogue

Odilia Abreu joined the Madrid office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in September 2019. Previously she worked for the EU-LAC Foundation at Hamburg, as Project Manager for Communication and Public Relations. During the last 15 years, she has been working in the NGOs & Foundations sector and attained experience both in institutional communication and in the development and implementation of projects. Ms Abreu has an academic background in Communication Science from University of Minho and University Complutense of Madrid. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and German.

Raquel Bañón -  Office & Communications Manager

With a multidisciplinary career that started in Madrid as a journalist and creative in a digital consultancy acquired by Leo Burnett, Raquel has worked in Madrid, Amsterdam and Chicago on communications and PR, advertising, design thinking and content development. She has managed multinational accounts such as Philip Morris, Kraft Heinz, Coca Cola and France Telecom among others. In Mexico she continued her development into Cultural Marketing and has worked for the Geologic Museum of University UNAM, artistic foundation Alumnos47, independent theatre company OLTA, international boutique music festivals as well as social educational platforms. As a communications person she is passionate about the challenges facing when reaching out for new audiences and connecting with them. Raquel is also a playwriter, photographer, theater producer and founder of an artistic-social platform. She speaks Spanish and English and is currently learning German.

Manuel Triano -  Finance Manager

Manuel Triano joined the Madrid office of Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in October 2019 as Finance Manager.  Before he worked for a facilities company, first as  financial controller and then as deputy director. He gained considerable work experience in the fields of invoice management, general accounting, taxes and financial planning. He speaks Spanish and English and is currently learning German.
