Human Rights & Rule of Law

Rule of law is our prime tool to limit power. Under it, laws guarantee separation of powers, human rights respect and judicial protection against abuse. In a country where there is rule of law, the limits of power that individuals can use against each other are clear and stable and they protect citizens against politicians and administration whims.

There is no use in having excellent laws and politics if there is no Rule of Law to defend the Human Rights of citizens that live inside a country and guarantee accountability for those who violate the norms. That's why, in Latinamerica, we work along with partners that analize, evaluate and propose solutions in order to boost human rights and the respect of liberties.

Good government Latam

Good goverment

Of course none of us wants a bad government, but, what do liberals mean when they talk about “good government”? Initially, one that respects the autonomy of individuals to build their own life according to their values and principles without telling them whom to love or trade with. Good governments understand that they shouldn't have any interference in personal decisions of the citizens who live under their power.

We work on the region to emphasize the importance of governments that work on equal opportunity and rule of law from a liberal perspective.

Market economies

Market economy

Market economies are those in which commerce is carried out voluntarily, never under coercion. In them, individuals are trusted to make the best decisions for themselves about their consumption, as well as find ways to negotiate fairly. This kind of economy stimulates competition and innovation, which reduces the costs of goods and services and generates a bigger welfare for the country's population.

In the Foundation we work with allies who help us increase the reach of startups and evaluate the regulatory framework to assure entrepreneurs don’t find  shackles (for) to their development

Liberal ideas

Nobody has the absolute say about what’s best within a society; that’s why, at the Foundation, we encourage dialogue with other people and institutions who are experts on these subjects. They help us develop new visions about our subjects as well as put current issues under the radar.

We arrange webinars, talks and courses that help us find the best course of action according to the actual circumstances. You can learn more about them on our social media!

Migration

Migration

Migration is a human right. The Mexico-USA-Central America triangle is a witness of several issues that vulnerate this and other rights; that's why, from a liberal approach, we work to influence public policies that support those rights and guarantee migrants safety.

Smart Cities

A Smart City is one in which political, technological, social and environmental needs are properly satisfied. Smart Cities put together strategies from urbanism, administration and innovation so their inhabitants can cover all their needs in an ecological way that also helps the economy.
