Regional Conference On International Integration And Sustainable Development

Viet Tri City, 9 June 2017.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vietnam (MOFA) organized a regional conference about opportunities and challenges for local authorities and business communities in the current context of international integration of Vietnam. Participants were representatives of MOFA and policy makers from 9 Northern provinces. The program was conceptualized and co-sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.

Main goals of the conference were: 

  • To update Vietnam's policy on international economic integration for local authorities and the business community;
  • To provide policy recommendations for local authorities and the business community in order to take advantage of opportunities and overcome challenges in their socio-economic development;
  • To help enhance international economic integration and the capacity of local authorities and business community to deal successfull with these opportunities.

Among the guest speakers were Mr. Truong Dinh Tuyen, Former Trade Minister, several leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee  of Phu Tho and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;  also Dr. Le Xuan Sang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and other policy experts.
