The State of the Country Report of 2019 was released on January 21st, 2020 by the Economic and Social Council. The 1,018-page report states the weaknesses in higher management and the lack of supervision and accountability across various institutions as having caused an increase in the trust gap between the government and citizens. Moreover, the report highlights the weaknesses of state institutions and their inability to achieve their outlined goals.

To discuss the report, FNF Middle East and North Africa held an Economic Breakfast with H.E. Dr. Mustafa Hamarneh, the President of the Economic and Social Council in order to understand how this report could influence a change economically and politically in Jordan. Using an interactive survey tool, FNF MENA found that 57% of the attendees of the Economic Breakfast believe that the State of the Country report influence the government performance.
