The World's First Human Rights Club for Prisoners

Prison

Since 2000, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, together with its partner organisation Centre des Droits des Gens, has been committed to the rights of prisoners in Moroccan prisons. Initially, the focus of these activities was on training the staff of the prison administrations, from the guards to the directors. The Centre des Droits des Gens was also able to advocate at the political level for reforms and improvements in the prison conditions of hundreds of Moroccans.

In 2017, CDG and FNF jointly founded the world's first human rights clubs for prisoners. These are places of education and entertainment to educate prisoners about their rights and prepare them for their release. The aim is not only to promote tolerance and non-violence, but also to initiate and facilitate professional training to prepare prisoners for successful resocialisation after their release.
